Job summary

Maniilaq Association in Kotzebue, Alaska seeks a Charge Nurse to provide patient care in Inpatient, ER and OB, while overseeing staff and the unit during the shift.

Must have an RN license in good standing and be eligible for Alaska licensure; prior experience in inpatient areas is preferred. This full-time position supports the hospital mission and offers the opportunity to contribute to quality care and patient safety.

Qualifications

• RN license in good standing and eligibility for Alaska licensure.
• Prior experience in inpatient areas (Medical, OB or ER).
• Able to manage shift assignments and coordinate care.

Responsibilities

• Assigns oncoming shift to staff based on skills and patient needs.
• Maintains knowledge of patient conditions to ensure safe coverage.
• Oversees bed assignments and meal/restocking tasks.
• Monitors medications, crash carts and medstation security each shift.
• Provides orientation and training to new staff on their shift.
• Communicates with Inpatient Manager about changes in patient conditions.
