Job summary

South Port Square in Port Charlotte, FL is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to administer medications, document care, and respond to emergencies. This full-time RN position offers a weekday evening/night differential and weekend premiums, along with a comprehensive benefits package including 401K, health, dental, vision, life insurance, paid time off, and daily pay.

A Florida RN license and at least 6 months geriatric experience are required.

Qualifications

• RN licensed by the State of Florida in good standing.
• At least 6 months nursing experience; geriatric involvement preferable.
• Able to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff and visitors.
• Maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications.
• Administers treatments (dressings, catheterization, suctioning, oxygen, etc.).
• Assists in direct resident care as needed.
• Maintains accurate documentation of medications and care.
• Assists in admission and discharge procedures.
• Responds to the resident emergency call system as indicated.
• Makes rounds with physicians and transcribes orders.
• Keeps physicians and family informed of changes in condition.
• Maintains patient dignity and safety.
• Attends in-service training and education sessions.
