Job summary

Naples Comprehensive Health - NCH seeks a Registered Nurse for Critical Care at our North Naples ICU. You will provide direct patient care, teach and lead care in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting.

The position is a Full Time Temporary Pool with variable shifts at the Naples location. Base pay is $65/hour plus shift differentials, with opportunities to float to other units as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in critical care patient management.
• Current Florida RN or APRN licensure.
• BLS certification required; ALS certification preferred.
• Strong ability to coordinate care and educate patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care in CCU per standards.
• Coordinates care delivery and promotes safe patient outcomes.
• Participates in multi-disciplinary rounds and SDM activities.
• Maintains CCU competencies and uses EMR for documentation.

NCH’s Temporary Staffing Pool (TSP) Program provides the opportunity to work in temporary full-time or temporary part-time positions to cover staffing needs for a 12, 24, or 36 week contract at an elevated hourly rate. TSP employees are assigned shifts through a float pool to areas congruent with their clinical specialty and can be assigned to work at various locations.

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse – Critical Care independently plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care in patient care situations using standards of care, policy and procedure. Provides direct nursing care to patients, assumes teaching and leadership responsibilities. Participates in shared decision making, unit committee and quality improvement activities. Needs minimal supervision.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Completes Adult ICU Systems Assessment and integrates findings with other aspects of EMR, i.e., testing results, clinical documentation, etc. to support patient safety and best outcomes.
• Demonstrates competency with monitoring skills:
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation.
• Pulse oximetry.
• Invasive and non-invasive monitoring waveform interpretation.
• Hemodynamic measurement and interpretation.
• Knowledgeable in indications of critical care specific medications/infusions and safely administers, titrates and monitors effectiveness.
• Demonstrates safe use, knowledge and troubleshooting of equipment specific to critical care environment.
• Maintains critical care specific competencies (annually).
• Participates in multi-disciplinary rounds (MDRs).

Education, Experience And Qualifications

Candidates with Critical Care experience that will not be entering fellowship program

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in critical care.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the State of Florida.
• BSN strongly preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.

Candidates WITHOUT Critical Care experience and New Graduates RN that will complete fellowship program

New graduate nurses will be considered for program.

BSN preferred.

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the State of Florida.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• ALS certification will be obtained during the program.
• Required to sign a Fellowship agreement which includes a 2-year employment commitment to remain in Critical Care in a full-time position after completion of training.
• Intermediate computer knowledge: Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.
