Qualifications
- Must hold valid Alabama Nursing License.
- Maintain a current CPR certification.
- Must hold valid Alabama Driving License.
- Must meet background clearance requirements as specified by Alabama Statutes and State Board of Education regulations.
Responsibilities
- Attend and assist with medication administration in a school setting.
- Monitor medication dispensing and maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Assist with vision screenings.
- Facilitate scoliosis screenings and communicate with parents.
- Maintain immunization records for all students.
- Meet daily medical needs of students.
- Maintain records of health concerns and visits to the nurse's station.
- Write health care plans for students with chronic illnesses.
- Assist counselors with 5th Grade Human Growth and Development classes.
- Conduct head lice checks and advise parents.
- Present in-service trainings as requested.
- Attend nurse meetings.
- Keep nursing license current.
- Engage in continuing professional development.
- Exercise professional judgment and ethical standards.
- Maintain punctuality, records and reports.
- Comply with Auburn City Schools policies.
- Respond to inquiries in a timely manner.
- Keep supervisor informed of issues.
- Exhibit teamwork.
- Perform other tasks aligned with goals.
