Job summary

Maxim Healthcare is seeking full-time Registered Nurses (RNs) to work with students in the elementary school settings, in the health rooms or 1:1 within the OPS district as a float nurse.

Responsibilities include providing medical treatment, early health problem detection, screenings, health education, and managing student IHPs and medications as required. CPR certification and active RN license are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program preferred.
• Current RN license in the relevant state required.
• Pediatric nursing experience preferred.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for providing professional, medical treatment to students
• Responsible for early detection of student physical problems and for completing student health evaluations
• Coordinates vision, hearing, and orthopedic screening and health assessments
• Responsible for providing, or assisting teachers with providing disease prevention, nutrition and general health education
• Assists school personnel with the promotion of health education and immunization programs
• Designs and implements student Individualized Health Plans (IHPs) Provides, and/or oversees, student medication administration and medical treatments as required by student’s IHP
• Maintains clinical records
• Provides emergency aid to students and school staff
• Participates in professional development days
• Counsels & assists students and parents in health-related adjustments

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing preferred
• Resume Required
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in specific state required
• Successful experience as a school nurse preferred
• Pediatric nursing experience preferred
• Valid CPR certification required
• Successful completion of training, testing, and/or additional requirements as stated by contract required
• Excellent Communication skills
• Proficiency in the English language required
• Current Health Certificate (per facility contract or state regulation) required
• Must meet all federal, state, local, and contract requirements
• Technological proficiency including mobile devices for documentation
• Must be at least 18 years of age
