Mille Lacs Health System seeks a Peri-surgical RN (SDS/PACU) to provide direct and indirect patient care in the perioperative setting. The RN uses the nursing process, collaborates with management, and serves as a resource and teacher to staff and families.
The role requires a graduate of an accredited nursing program, a Minnesota RN license, and a current BLS/ACLS/PALS sequence. Work shifts are typically Monday–Friday, 8 hours, within 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Under the direction of, and in collaboration with unit management, performs responsibilities exercising initiative, judgment and independent decision‑making within the scope of the State Nurse Practice Act, hospital policy and other governing organizations. Utilizes the nursing process (assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation) in a systematic approach to the direct and indirect care of patients and their families. The SDS/PACU RN provides care in the Peri‑surgical setting directed toward meeting both the psychosocial and physical needs of the patient. The RN is a resource person and teacher. Care given reflects initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectations.
