U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs seeks an experienced Risk Manager RN to lead the medical center's Risk Management Program.

You will identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate clinical and organizational risks to promote patient safety, improve healthcare quality, and support a high-reliability culture. The role requires RN licensure, completion of an approved nursing program (ACEN/CCNE), and state licensure.

Formación

• English language proficiency required
• Graduate of a nursing program approved by accredited bodies (ACEN/CCNE)
• Option for bridge program nursing students to obtain state licensure
• Temporary appointment possible during licensure
• Current unrestricted nursing registration in US state or DC
• Foreign credential evaluation may be required
• GNT exception for licensed candidates pursuing licensure
• Grade level criteria per VA nursing qualifications
• Preferred: master's degree and VA-specific tools experience

Responsabilidades

• Manage, coordinate, implement, and evaluate the Risk Management Program
• Provide oversight of risk management activities including quality and patient safety programs
• Conduct clinical practice reviews and assess adherence to standards
• Review outcomes and resource utilization to identify risks and improve care
• Maintain databases for tort claims, peer reviews, and risk activities
• Collaborate with leadership and staff to address risk concerns
• Educate staff on risk management policies and patient safety practices
• Ensure compliance with VHA directives and Joint Commission standards
• Lead interdisciplinary committees and promote high reliability culture
• Support continuous improvement and performance improvement initiatives
