Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Registered Nurse (Risk Manager/ Quality Management Specialist) in Quality and Patient Safety services at VA Central Western Massachusetts, Leeds, MA.

This is a permanent full-time role, 40 hours weekly, with standard Monday–Friday scheduling and optional telework per agency policy. Ideal candidates will have BSN or higher, an active RN license, and experience in quality/risk management, patient safety, root cause analysis, and program management

Qualifications

• English language proficiency required for direct patient care.
• Registered nurse with a degree from a program accredited by ACEN or CCNE.
• License verification and state licensure required; GNT exception applicable per VA standards.
• Foreign-educated nurses must have degree equivalency validation as needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Enterprise Risk Management program elements and risk data analysis.
• Provide risk management education to healthcare teams and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Conduct investigations, audits, and problem-focused studies to mitigate risks.
• Advise management to integrate risk findings into the quality improvement program.
• Participate in hospital committees and continuous monitoring of risk activities.
