Job summary

Ochsner Health in Louisiana seeks an experienced nurse auditor to perform proactive/prospective audits, defense audits, and charge capture reviews within the revenue cycle. You will collaborate with clinical teams, prepare action plans, and report to the Chart Audit Committee.

Required is a graduate of an accredited nursing program with an active RN license; five years of related healthcare experience, or three years with a master's degree.

Qualifications

• RN license required and must be in state of practice.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Master's degree in finance, accounting, business/health administration, nursing or related field preferred.
• 5 years of related healthcare experience, or 3 years with a master's degree.
• Proficiency in using computers, software and web-based applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and ability to present information clearly to stakeholders.
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule and travel between facilities.

Responsibilities

• Performs defensive and charge capture auditing functions.
• Handles all aspects of the Chart Audit Committee.
• Communicates audit results with all applicable stakeholders.
• Resolves pre-bill and post-bill edit questions.
• Adapts communication and service style to the patient population and workflow.
• Performs other related duties as required.
