Job summary

White-Oaks-Nursing-and-Reha seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to oversee the Respiratory Therapy Program at our NYS-licensed Skilled Nursing Facility. The RN will ensure respiratory services are delivered safely, per physician orders and resident care plans, while collaborating with Respiratory Therapists, physicians, nursing leadership and the interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered NY RN license.
• 2-3 years of nursing experience, preferably in SNF/subacute/long-term care.
• Experience with respiratory care modalities: oxygen, nebulizers, CPAP/BiPAP, tracheostomy care.
• Working knowledge of CMS regulations and NYSDOH requirements.
• Strong leadership, organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Respiratory Therapy Program per physician orders and resident care plans.
• Ensure respiratory treatments are administered per clinical standards and policy.
• Monitor residents with COPD, pneumonia, asthma, and other respiratory conditions.
• Coordinate respiratory services with physicians, pulmonologists, and respiratory therapy providers.
• Provide education and competency oversight for nursing staff on respiratory care and equipment.
