Job summary

Covenant HealthCare in Michigan is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Resource Team. The RN will lead care coordination, educate patients and families, manage pain and safety, and support safe discharge planning within inpatient units.

Ideal candidates hold NLN-accredited nursing education, active Michigan RN licensure, and BLS certification, with at least one year of acute care experience. Commitment to Covenant values is essential.

Qualifications

• Graduation from NLN accredited school of nursing.
• Registered Nurse with current licensure in the State of Michigan.
• BLS certification required.
• Attends unit conferences, inservice programs and continuing education activities to meet the organization’s expectations.
• Minimum of one year of acute care nursing experience, required

Responsibilities

• Supports patient flow through unit policies and Patient Services guidelines.
• Maintains flexibility for 24-hour staffing and care in inpatient units.
• Models Covenant’s Mission, Vision and Values in daily practice.
• Delivers excellent customer service and communicates professionally with patients and families.
• Assesses, plans and implements care with nursing diagnoses and patient needs.
• Collaborates with health care disciplines to facilitate outcomes and discharge planning.
• Documents care observations in the electronic record accurately and timely.
• Participates in quality management and risk reduction activities.
• Maintains knowledge and skills related to patient populations and practice area.
