September Residency

Job Overview:

The RWJBarnabas Health New Graduate RN Residency program is a one-year program that provides new graduate RNs with a safe, caring, supportive, and robust learning environment. It allows the new graduate nurse to gain clinical competency and transition from student to professional practice. The program includes:

  1. Preceptor and relationship-guided new graduate transition program.
  2. Continuing education and ongoing professional development.
  3. Specialty-specific foundational courses reflecting scope and standards of practice.
  4. Application of professional accountability and ethical practice inherent to the registered nurse role.
  5. Recognition of the impact of skilled nursing practice on patient safety, quality, and satisfaction.
  6. Self-care focus to maintain a safe and fulfilling nursing practice for both nurse and patient.
  7. Mentorship supporting the new graduate nurse through their first year and beyond.
  8. Hired into the area of specialty.
  9. Variable day or night shifts.

Required:

  • Graduate of an accredited ADN or BSN program.
  • NJ RN licensure prior to the date of hire.
  • Less than 6 months of RN experience.
  • Commitment to orientation requirements.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association.

Preferred:

  • BSN degree.
