Piedmont Macon Medical is offering a 12-month Nurse Residency program beginning February 2027. The program blends precepted orientation with blended learning to prepare new graduate nurses for quality and safety at the point of care.

Residents will gain clinical judgment, communication skills, cohort experiences, and didactic content from professional nursing organizations, with opportunities across Acute Care, CCU, ED, Women’s Services, CV/PCU, Surgical Services, Transplant, and more.

Qualifications

• Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification required.
• New Graduates of a nursing program eligible.
• Graduate of a nursing program.

Responsibilities

• The Staff Nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle using nursing processes.
• Coordinate patient care activities of all assigned staff to ensure quality nursing care.
• Demonstrate professional growth and accountability within organizational policies.

Our 12-month, comprehensive, transition-to-practice program facilitates your progress from student to professional nurse through education, mentorship and peer support. Our Nurse Residency program prepares new graduate nurses by teaching the knowledge, skills and behaviors that are necessary to continuously improve quality and safety at the point of care. It combines precepted orientation, led by dedicated preceptors, with blended learning experiences.

Nurse Residents Will

Responsibilities

The Staff Nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.
