Job summary

Piedmont Macon Medical is offering a 12-month Nurse Residency program designed to transition new graduates from student to professional nurse through education, mentorship and peer support at Piedmont Georgia facilities.

The program combines precepted orientation led by dedicated preceptors with blended learning experiences, helping residents develop clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork while preparing for ongoing quality and safety at the point of care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing program.
• New Graduates eligible.
• Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients from birth through lifecycle, utilizing nursing processes.
• Coordinate patient care activities of all assigned staff to ensure quality care.
• Maintain standards of practice and demonstrate professional growth and accountability.
• Adhere to organization policies and procedures.”

Our 12-month, comprehensive, transition-to-practice program facilitates your progress from student to professional nurse through education, mentorship and peer support. Our Nurse Residency program prepares new graduate nurses by teaching the knowledge, skills and behaviors that are necessary to continuously improve quality and safety at the point of care. Responsibilities

The Staff Nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.
