Participants gain advanced clinical training, monthly education sessions, and preceptorship experiences within a supportive team of nurse educators and experienced nurses, ensuring a smooth transition into professional practice at St.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days of employment is required.
• ACLS certification within 1 year of employment is required.
• No prior nursing experience is required for this residency program.
• Some travel may be needed for training as part of the program.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient conditions during admission and each shift, reporting changes.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, and tasks as ordered by the medical provider; document care.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor therapeutic response; notify provider of adverse events.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs to provide exceptional care.
• Educate patients, families and caregivers about conditions, treatment plans, and follow-up steps; translate medical terms for understanding.
