The role you’ll contribute:

The Nurse Residency Clinical Educator oversees the Nurse Residency Program within the West Florida Division, including the Transition Nurse Programs and International Nurse Program. Responsibilities include managing accreditation compliance, supporting recruitment and retention, managing resident needs, facilitating seminars and training, and coordinating recognition activities. The role involves supporting new associates during recruitment, onboarding, and rounding with nurses and leaders within designated timeframes.

  • Manage orientation/onboarding of nursing residents, transition nurses, and international nurse programs.
  • Collaborate and engage in the entire orientation/onboarding process for new transition-to-practice nurses, including development, coordination, management, facilitation, and evaluation.
  • Promote employee retention through effective transition-to-practice programs like preceptorship and mentorship.
  • Ensure positive learning environments and desired outcomes during orientation.
  • Implement cost-effective orientation practices.
  • Model organizational and personal commitment to new team member success.
  • Verify participants meet transition-to-practice requirements.
  • Coordinate daily operations of residency, transition nurses, nurse externs, and international nurse programs under supervision.
  • Support nursing leadership, preceptors, and program nurses to ensure effective educational environments, including unit-based educational activities and skills competency.

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

  • Associate Degree of Science in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • Five years of clinical nursing experience.
  • Enrollment in BSN program within one year of hire.
  • Current registration with the Florida State Board of Nursing or verification of application and eligibility for Florida licensure by endorsement.
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification.
