Position Summary

The Registered Nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for a group of patients. This role involves leading nursing team members in care delivery as directed by the attending physician and in collaboration with other healthcare providers, adhering to ProMedica Acute Care Hospitals' philosophies and policies. The nurse actively fosters an environment that promotes patient, family, physician, and employee satisfaction, ensuring decisions are based on patient-centered care, evidence-based practices, safety, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes.

Scope of Service

The Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care requiring knowledge, judgment, and skills from biological, physical, behavioral, social, spiritual/cultural, and nursing sciences. The nurse functions within the full scope of practice as defined by the Board of Nursing for their state, complying with hospital accreditation standards.

Licensure/Registration/Certification

• Current State license as a Registered Nurse
• Relevant specialty certifications
• In Ohio, completes 24 contact hours of continuing education per licensure period, including at least 1 hour related to Ohio nurse practice code

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

• Knowledge and use of standard precautions and PPE
• Knowledge and use of safe patient handling equipment

Physical Demands

• Ability to tolerate exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, temperature changes, bloodborne pathogens, and bodily fluids
• Meets health requirements such as PPD, vaccines, and respirator training
• Ability to move about hospital, stand for prolonged periods, lift and carry patients or equipment, and perform physical activities as specified
