Harborview Medical Center, part of UW Medicine, seeks a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) to provide adult, adolescent and pediatric care with forensic evidence collection. The role requires on-call availability and rapid response across five hospitals in the UW Medicine system.

Qualified candidates are RNs with at least two years of experience, a WA nursing license, and graduation from an accredited nursing program.

Harborview Abuse and Trauma Center/Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (HATC/SANE) is seeking a SANE.

Unit Description

HATC is an accredited Community Sexual Assault Program and Crime Victim Service Center. Our mission is to prevent and treat the harmful effects of traumatic experiences on survivors, families, and communities. We provide effective support and care that is individualized, culturally inclusive, and compassionate. We serve the larger community through leadership, prevention, education, and advocacy.

The SANE's are on call providing care to adult, adolescent and pediatric victims of sexual assault including physical exam and forensic evidence collection.

Primary Job Responsibilities

• Provided service at Harborview Medical Center and Valley Medical Center.
• 40 hour didactic SANE training is provided and a extensive orientation.
• Minimum availability is six 12 hour shifts per month.
• Must be able to respond to cases at all 5 hospitals we serve (Harborview, Swedish 1st Hill, Children’s, UW Medical Center and Valley) within 45 min to 1 hour.

• Must live in King County and within 45 min drive time to Harborview
• Two or more years working as an RN
• Have/Obtain a Washington state nursing license to practice or MSL
• Graduated from an accredited school of nursing
• Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration

• Case pay $400.00 BSN or Higher premium $1.00/hr.
• Certification premium $1.25/hr
• Evening shift differential $3.00/hr
• Night shift differential $5.00/hr
• Weekend shift differential $4.00/hr
• Sunday Night premium $3.00/hr
• Over time pay
