Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Lake Charles, LA, is seeking per diem nurses who practice independently in a clinical setting and provide routine and complex care. You will apply the nursing process, monitor treatments, and delegate tasks as needed to maintain patient safety and outcomes.

The role requires licensure as an RN, BLS certification, and a preference for a BSN with at least 1 year in a related nursing specialty. Multiple shifts available; per diem as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• BLS required.
• RN License in state of employment or compact.

• Administers medications and treatments using appropriate protocol; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members and/or care givers.

Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as a means to help manage the clinical situation.
