Autonomous nursing care is the ability of a nurse to assess and provide nursing actions as appropriate for patient care populations based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge. The nurse is expected to practice autonomously consistent with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance. Independent judgment is expected to be exercised within the context of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care.
Under the supervision of the attending faculty physician and clinical nurse lead or NP, the Per Diem RN responsible for providing clinical assistance and support in treating and managing the pre and post-transplant care of transplant patients. Acts as key member of the multidisciplinary transplant teams. Solves complex clinical problems and communicates directly with the attending physician. Consultant and liaison for patients and their families with attending physicians, house staff, social workers, financial and administrative staff, and community physicians.
Provides teaching to patients, staff, and community organizations. Collaborate with attending physicians on admissions, discharges and outpatient care. Works closely with administrative team to fulfill QA and regulatory requirements. Position may cross train to cover nursing positions in pre and post-transplant as well as the transplant multispecialty clinic. Annual Full Pay Range: $190,342 - $190,342 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $91.16 - $91.16
