Job summary

Mission Health, based in Asheville, NC, is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse for our Ortho Trauma unit. You will coordinate pre- and post-operative care, support pain management plans and wound care, and manage orthopedic devices such as casts, splints, traction, and external fixation.

You will educate patients and families on their diagnosis, treatment options, mobility and weight-bearing status, and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Current RN license to practice
• Experience in orthopedic trauma care preferred
• Ability to educate patients and families

Responsibilities

Job description

Mission Health, based in Asheville, NC, is seeking a compassionate, team-oriented Registered Nurse for our Ortho Trauma unit within the Healthcare & Medical Services department.

The Registered Nurse Ortho Trauma will coordinate pre- and post-operative care, support pain management plans, perform wound care and dressing changes, manage orthopedic devices such as casts, splints, traction, and external fixation, and provide education to patients and families regarding their diagnosis, treatment options, mobility and weight-bearing status, use of assistive devices, and discharge planning. You will advocate for patient safety and quality outcomes by adhering to established clinical protocols, documenting accurately in the electronic health record, and participating in unit-based quality improvement, falls prevention, and infection control initiatives.
