Job summary

AdventHealth in Parker, Colorado, is seeking a part-time NICU Registered Nurse for night shifts. You will conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop and adjust care plans, and administer medications per physician orders. Strong teamwork and excellent communication are essential for coordinating with the care team.

You must have an RN license and at least 1 year in NICU, with BLS certification. A Sign-on bonus is offered for eligible candidates and benefits start from day one.

Qualifications

  • RN license and Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
  • Minimum 1 year of NICU experience required.
  • Registered Nurse credentials and regulatory compliance.
  • Fluent in English; strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work as a collaborative team member in a high-acuity unit.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients across physiological and psychosocial domains.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans with regular evaluations.
  • Administer medications and monitor for adverse reactions per orders.
  • Educate patients/families on conditions, treatments, and self-care.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to coordinate patient care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the medical record.
  • Ensure infection control and safety standards are followed.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities and professional development.

Job Description
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
  • Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.
  • Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information, care activities, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and interventions continuously, making necessary adjustments to improve patient health and achieve positive outcomes. * Ensure compliance with infection control protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe healthcare environment.
  • Provide emotional support and therapeutic communication to patients and their families, addressing their emotional and psychological needs.
  • Supervise and delegate care provided by members of the healthcare team to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and participate in performance improvement activities to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Respond to code situations promptly and effectively, providing necessary interventions to stabilize patients.

  • Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care according to patient outcomes
