Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Detroit, MI seeks a registered nurse to join a 40-bed neuro unit. You will coordinate and deliver quality patient care, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care while teaching patients and families.

All RNs are ACLS and NIH certified, with strong teamwork and communication throughout the care team. BSN is preferred, and the ideal candidate will hold a Michigan RN license and demonstrate clinical knowledge to support diverse neuro diagnoses

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• BSN preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
• RN experience preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
• Health care provider certification (BCLS).

Additional Information

UNIT OVERVIEW:

40 bed unit specializing in neuro patients. Some of the patient population consisting of stoke/stroke-like symptoms, seizure, brain bleeds, and other neuro type diagnosis. In addition, will see small number of cardiac patients with a couple cardiac drips that are not titrated, and any other patient’s needed placement. All RNs ACLS and NIH certified.
