Responsibilities

- Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
- Administer medications and treatments using appropriate protocols; monitor for side effects and effectiveness.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided.
- Assess learning needs and educate patients, families, and caregivers.
- Utilize critical thinking to assess physical, psychosocial, social, cultural, spiritual, and developmental needs.
- Communicate findings effectively and develop individualized care plans.
- Plan for patient admission, discharge, and transfer to facilitate flow.
- Manage nursing care and functions during shifts, ensuring equipment and supplies are properly used and maintained.
- Ensure safety practices, promote positive outcomes, and comply with healthcare laws and regulations.
- Follow clinical policies and standards, analyze documentation, and ensure organizational compliance.
- Maintain accurate health information documentation, including electronic records and verbal orders.
- Use diagnostic tools, troubleshoot equipment, and ensure patient safety with medical equipment.
- Process medical orders accurately and interpret patient charts effectively.
Job Requirements
- Education/Skills: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Experience: 1 year in a related nursing specialty preferred.
- Licenses/Certifications: BLS required; RN license in the state of employment or compact.
Position Requirements
- Attend New Nurses Orientation within 30 days; complete competency validations.
- Experience in Perinatal RN Residency or recent practice in a Perinatal setting preferred.
- Certifications: STABLE and NRP certifications required within specified timeframes.
