Job summary

UAB Medicine is hiring a dedicated ICU Nurse for the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at 1South in Birmingham, AL. The role focuses on implementing care plans, coordinating interdisciplinary care, and ensuring timely execution of physician orders in a high-acuity environment.

Qualifications

• Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider within 1 Month, ACLS within 6 Months, and Alabama Board of Nursing licensure.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND required professional licensure at time of hire.

• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.

Our 1South ICU, which is also a Medical ICU, has 18 beds. We pride ourselves on team cohesiveness. All of the patient care supervisors are readily available M-F and leadership of all levels has a great presence daily. We are always accepting new graduates, everyone enjoys teaching, and no one is left to do things alone.

Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.


• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.


• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND Required professional licensure at time of hire.
