Position: Registered Nurse

The Registered Nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for a group of patients. This role involves leading nursing team members in patient care as directed by the attending physician and in collaboration with other healthcare providers, in line with ProMedica's philosophy and policies. The nurse actively fosters an environment that promotes satisfaction among patients, families, physicians, and staff, ensuring decisions are patient- and family-centered, evidence-based, and focused on safety, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes.

Scope of Service

The Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care based on biological, physical, behavioral, social, spiritual/cultural, and nursing sciences. The nurse functions within the full scope of practice as defined by the Board of Nursing in their practicing state, complying with hospital accreditation standards.

Licensure, Certification, and Education

• Current State license as a Registered Nurse.
• Current CPR certification.
• Specialty certifications as required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• In Ohio, completes 24 contact hours of continuing education per licensure period, including at least 1 hour related to Ohio Nurse Practice Act (Chapter 4723).

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

• Knowledge and proper use of standard precautions and PPE.
• Knowledge and use of safe patient handling equipment.

Physical Demands

• Ability to tolerate exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, temperature changes, bloodborne pathogens, and bodily fluids.
• Meets all health requirements (e.g., PPD, vaccines, respirator training).
• Ability to move around hospital, stand for prolonged periods, and lift or carry light to heavy patients or equipment.
• Ability to perform continuous standing, walking, bending, reaching, and frequent pushing, pulling, and squatting.
• Occasional sitting, stair climbing, and kneeling.
