Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL seeks a Registered Nurse (PRN) to provide direct nursing care and coordinate multidisciplinary patient services. The role follows established policies, monitors patient conditions, and communicates effectively with the health care team to ensure high-quality care.

The nurse will implement care plans, execute physician orders, and assist with discharge planning, contributing to a seamless patient experience in a high-volume MedSurg setting. Eligible benefits apply.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire date.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as an RN by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
• Diploma from an accredited nursing program.
• One year of RN experience required.

Job Description

Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the
healthcare organization.

• Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare
  team.

Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required

Minimum Requirements

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire required. One year of RN experience is required
