Job summary

Mount Carmel St. Ann’s is seeking a Registered Nurse for a weekend shift (Fri, Sat, Sun, 1900–0730) to support the Surgery department’s coverage needs.

The role covers ENT, general, gyn, maxillofacial, neuro, ortho, plastics, podiatry, robotics, urology and vascular cases with a collaborative team and minimal call requirements. As an RN, you will provide patient-centered care under Ohio Nursing Practice Act, ensuring safety, evidence-based practice and timely communications with the care team.

Qualifications

• Graduate from school of nursing.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
• Casual RNs require 2 years of experience.
• New graduate nurses with less than one year of clinical experience are enrolled in the Nurse Residency Program.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care, ensures patient safety, promotes evidence-based practice and quality initiatives, and upholds professionalism in nursing within the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program model.
• Assesses and evaluates patient care for an assigned group of patients, collaborates with patient and family to develop and implement a plan of care including physical, spiritual and educational components.
• Communicates pertinent information to team members in a timely manner and keeps patient/family updated.
• Documents assessments, interventions and outcomes accurately and in accordance with standards and guidelines.
• Assumes responsibility and accountability for care provided and documented by other licensed and unlicensed care givers as appropriate.

Description

Position Purpose: This position is scheduled for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 1900 to 0730. No call responsibilities are required, as the associate fulfills the department's weekend coverage needs by working every weekend.

The Surgery department at Mount Carmel St. Ann's has a total of 12 operating rooms. The Registered Nurse would expect to see cases related to ENT, general, gyn, maxillofacial, neuro, ortho, plastics, podiatry, robotics, urology, and vascular. Mount Carmel St. Ann's has great surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurse leaders that display excellent team work and collaboration. The department has a family like feel and is an overall great environment to work in with a minimal call requirement.

The Registered Nurse RN, within the scope of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, will provide care in an atmosphere sensitive to each person's physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs. The Registered Nurse RN, collaborates in the spirit of teamwork is accountable for the delivery of patient care utilizing the Nursing Process within the standards, policies, procedures and guidelines of the Organization.

What you will do

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Graduate from school of nursing.
• Licensure / Certification: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
• For Casual RNs 2 years of experience is required.
• All new graduate nurses with less than one (1) year of clinical experience are subject to participate and will be automatically enrolled in the Nurse Residency Program.
