Responsibilities

1. Prepares equipment, assists physicians during exams and treatments, administers medications, changes dressings, and monitors vital signs.
2. Maintains accurate records on patient care, condition, reactions, and progress.
3. Acts as primary or team nurse in planning and implementing care, offering leadership within the department.
4. Ensures safe aseptic techniques and procedures, supporting staff and fostering collaboration.
5. Provides care in a 36-bed unit specializing in cardiac care for post-surgical and medical-surgical patients, emphasizing early detection of medical issues and quick response.
6. Opportunities include assessments, patient/family teaching, IVs, wound care, lab analysis, and medication management.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited nursing school.
• One-year experience preferred.
• Current Texas RN license.
• CPR, ACLS (within 6 months), EKG, and NIHSS certifications (within 90 days).
