Springhill Hospice in Daphne, AL is seeking an On-Call Registered Nurse to provide compassionate end-of-life care during after-hours. You will collaborate with the Remote Triage On Call Team to deliver hands-on care to hospice patients and support families.

The role requires an active RN license and 1 year of nursing experience (3+ preferred). You will enjoy a supportive environment, flexible scheduling, and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current licensure to practice in state of operation.
• One year nursing experience required, 3+ years preferred.
• Experience in hospice or a similar setting preferred.
• Knowledge of the hospice philosophy of care.
• Commitment to clinical and documentation excellence.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Remote Triage On Call Team to deliver hands-on care to hospice patients and offer supportive services to their families during after-hours.
• Assess and manage urgent symptoms quickly and compassionately.
• Administer medication or adjust care based on hospice protocols or provider orders.
• Communicate with the physician regarding changes in condition and obtain orders as necessary.
• Offer guidance and support to the patient and family in understanding the current condition and next steps.
• If a death occurs during on-call hours, the RN will go to the home or facility to pronounce death, provide support to the family, contact the funeral home, and notify the hospice team
• Complete timely documentation and communication
