Springhill Hospice in Daphne, AL is seeking a dedicated On-Call Registered Nurse to provide compassionate, 1:1 end-of-life care during after-hours. You will join a supportive team, delivering hands-on care, managing urgent symptoms, and coordinating with physicians for orders while ensuring thorough documentation.

The role emphasizes autonomy with team support, opportunities for professional growth, and a stable, patient-centered practice within a compassionate organization serving Baldwin

Competenze

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school with current licensure to practice in state of operation.
• One year nursing experience required, 3+ years preferred.
• Experience in hospice or a similar setting preferred.
• Knowledge of the hospice philosophy of care.
• Commitment to clinical and documentation excellence.
• Must be a licensed driver with an insured vehicle in good working order.

• Collaborate with Remote Triage On Call Team to deliver hands-on care to hospice patients and support families after-hours.
• Assess and manage urgent symptoms quickly and compassionately.
• Administer medication or adjust care per hospice protocols or orders.
• Communicate with the physician regarding changes in condition and obtain orders as necessary.
• Offer guidance and support to patient and family about condition and next steps.
• If a death occurs during on-call hours, pronounce death, support family, contact funeral home, and notify hospice team.
• Complete timely documentation and communication.

Schedule: Monday PM thru Friday AM, 4:30pm - 8am

As a On-Call RN You will:

• Collaborate with Remote Triage On Call Team to deliver hands-on care to hospice patients and offer supportive services to their families during after-hours, on an on-call basis
• Assess and manage urgent symptoms quickly and compassionately
• Administer medication or adjust care based on hospice protocols or provider orders
• Communicate with the physician regarding changes in condition and obtain orders as necessary
• Offer guidance and support to the patient and family in understanding the current condition and anticipating the next steps
• If a death occurs during on-call hours, the RN will go to the home or facility to pronounce death, provide support to the family, contact the funeral home, and notify the hospice team
• Complete timely documentation and communication

Qualifications
