About The Role

At Preferred Home Health Care & Nursing Services, a Care Options for Kids company, we provide 1:1 care in the home, doing things a little differently. There are no revolving door of patients, hospital chaos, blinking call lights, scurrying doctors, or overcrowded wards.

Instead, you work with self-sufficient autonomy, empowered to make a real difference in your clients' lives. We value your clinical knowledge and respect the deep one-on-one bond you establish with the families you care for. Your Director of Nursing is always available for support, with 24-hour, 365-day clinical resources.

A Day in the Life of a Care Options for Kids Nurse

You start your day by connecting with your care team, whether that’s parents or the nurse you are relieving. In-depth client information is available in our dedicated EHR platform.

Your client greets you warmly. Although non-verbal, she smiles, reaches out to touch your face, and snuggles into your chest. You disconnect her ventilator (used only at night), then proceed with breakfast and a sponge bath.

Every day offers new adventures—outdoor activities, crafts, storytelling, or quiet time with a book. You administer medications, perform routine trach and G-tube care, and document treatments electronically. During her nap, you finalize documentation and coordinate with your team before heading home.

Each day feels less like work and more like caring for family, offering opportunities to build your clinical skills and make a meaningful impact on your clients and their families.
