Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse to join our home health team in Florida. You will coordinate patient care, work with care teams, educate families, and perform comprehensive assessments in patients’ homes.

Responsibilities include vital signs, injections or IV therapy, catheter care and timely documentation, while supporting LPNs and HHAs. Strong clinical experience and a valid RN license are required.

Qualifications

• One year of clinical experience as an RN.
• Current RN license valid for applicable state(s).
• Minimum six months home health experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and liability insurance.
• Ability to assess patient status and adapt care to age-specific needs.
• Familiar with computer use, HR systems and online training.

• Collaborate with care teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Educate families on patient condition and needs.
• Perform head-to-toe physical assessments and monitor vital signs.

• Gives injections, IV therapy or tube feedings.
• Administers and maintains catheters.
• Completes documentation timely and accurately.
• Supervises LPNs and HHAs.
• Regularly communicates patient progress to the clinical manager, physician and care team.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• One year of clinical experience as a registered nurse (RN). If less than 1 year clinical experience as a RN, candidate must be approved by VP clinical.*
• Current RN license, specific to the state(s) you are assigned to work.
• Minimum six months home health experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.
• Able to assess patient status and identify requirements relative to age specific needs.
• Must be familiar with general use and functions of the computer, such as, user names and password concepts; internet; e‑mail; navigation of computer desktop, including starting programs, using files and windows, effectively use navigation buttons and tool bars; ability to self-manage online HR services and online training programs.

*Note - If less than 6 months clinical experience as a RN, candidate must participate in RN Intern program.
