Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking an experienced registered nurse to provide direct nursing care across ICU, ED, and MedSurg within the Float Staffing department. The role covers full-time night and day shifts with potential 6:00–6:00 hours based on unit needs.

A minimum of 12 months of nursing experience is highly preferred. Licensure in Alabama and BLS certification are required, with a Diploma in Nursing and professional licensure at hire.

Qualifications

• BLS within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing required before hire date or job transfer date.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing and professional licensure at time of hire; one year of nursing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with policies and protocols.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans; monitor, record and communicate patient condition.
• Coordinate care with all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's care needs with the healthcare team.
