Job summary

UAB Medicine in Alabama is seeking registered nurses for full-time night and day shifts in the Float Staffing unit (ICU, ED, Medsurg) at UAB St. Vincent's St. Clair.

The role provides direct nursing care, coordinates across disciplines, and requires a diploma in nursing, active AL RN licensure, and BLS certification. One year of nursing experience is preferred. Generous benefits accompany this mission-driven team.

Qualifications

• Current BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed by the Alabama Board of Nursing before hire date.
• Diploma in nursing and active licensure at time of hire; one year of nursing experience required.

Full-time Nights 7:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.
Full-time Days 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Could also be 6:00 - 6:00 depending on unit

A minimum of 12 months of experience is highly preferred.

Job Description

Provide direct nursing care in a diverse healthcare environment in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's care needs with members of the healthcare team.

Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire required. One (1) year of nursing experience required.
