Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Float Pool on the full-time night shift (7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.). The role requires a Diploma in nursing and licensure as a Registered Nurse in Alabama, with at least one year of nursing experience.

Work location is at UAB St Vincent's Birmingham, with benefits eligibility for qualified positions. The nurse will provide direct care, coordinate multi-disciplinary care plans, implement physician and nursing orders, and

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date required; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire required. One (1) year of nursing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in a diverse healthcare environment in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's care needs with members of the healthcare team.
