Job summary

RHA Health Services in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our facility-based crisis/non-hospital detox team. This night-shift role focuses on delivering compassionate nursing care to individuals with behavioral health and substance use challenges.

You will assess clients, administer treatments, monitor medications, and participate in QA activities, while maintaining safety and adhering to policy.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program with an Associate Degree.
• One year of nursing experience preferred.
• Behavioral health nursing experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license and personal vehicle insurance.
• Must meet state licensure/certification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor clients using nursing assessment skills in behavioral health and substance use treatment.
• Maintain controlled substances inventory and logs per policy.
• Monitor for medication side effects and adverse reactions.
• Complete QA activities and participate in QA processes.
• Communicate effectively with the team.

Provides oversight and general nursing care and services to persons in a facility-based crisis/non-hospital detox setting. All patients are voluntary and perform their own ADL's. No physical or chemical restraints. Average length of stay of patients is 5 -7 days.

Sign On Bonus: $5,000

Job Responsibilities

• Utilize your skills and expertise, current nursing assessment skills and knowledge of nursing principles to assess and monitor clients, participating in behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment and responding to crises on a timely basis.
• Comply with Controlled Substances policy and procedures in maintaining accurate inventories and controlled logs, following appropriate guidelines for investigation of discrepancies
• Monitor consumers and taking appropriate action for side effects and adverse reactions to medications
• Complete QA activities as requested and participating in the QA process
• Communicate effectively with the team
• Our ideal Registered Nurse has excellent listening and communication skills, can pick up on nonverbal communication and is eager to work on nonstandard nursing assignments.

Education, Licensure, and Experience required for the position include:

• Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing, with a minimum of an Associates Degree in Nursing.
• Must meet the education, experience, licensure/certification requirements specified by the service definition of the service being provided
• Prefer one year of nursing experience.
• Experience in behavioral health nursing preferred.
• Some college training and/or management experience helpful
• Valid drivers license (this is a condition of employment) including personal vehicle insurance coverage.
• Must maintain proficiency in company sponsored training and certifications and privileging if required.
