Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL is seeking a registered nurse to provide direct nursing care in accordance with our policies and protocols. Schedule is Mon-Fri 6am-2pm with on-call required at the UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham location.

The role includes implementing and monitoring care plans, coordinating multidisciplinary care, and executing physician orders while aiding discharge planning. RNs must hold Alabama Board licensure and be BLS certified within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• BLS within 1 month of hire date; AHA or Red Cross accepted.
• Currently licensed as an RN by the Alabama Board of Nursing is required.

Job Description

• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire required.
