Aultman Health Foundation's CVSICU is a 14-bed Cardiovascular Surgical Intensive Care Unit designed for adult surgical cardiothoracic patients and complex post-anesthesia recovery. The role provides clinical leadership, patient and family teaching, and collaborative care under the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.
Ideal candidates hold an Ohio RN license, with BSN preferred and ANCC certification consideration. Experience in cardiac or critical care is preferred, with opportunities to advance nursing
CVSICU – Cardiovascular Surgical Intensive Care UnitCVSICU consists of 14 beds. All rooms are identically equipped with hardwire monitoring bedside screens which include rhythm, hemodynamic pressure, invasive and noninvasive blood pressure, and pulse oximetry monitoring. 8 rooms are enclosed and can be used for isolation and are also equipped for acute hemodialysis. 5 rooms can be adjusted to have negative air pressure to be used as airborne infectious isolation rooms. CVSICU is designed to care for the adult surgical cardiothoracic patient. The unit also provides thoracic post anesthesia recovery care. This unit provides care for patients on the Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), Circulatory Assist Devices, Cardio-Pulmonary Assist Devices (CPS), and open chests.
The primary purpose of this position is to provide clinical leadership and direction of patient care, provide patient and family teaching, and work cooperatively within the interdisciplinary health care team in maintaining standards of nursing care within the framework of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.
