Job summary

MedCadre is seeking a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Registered Nurse to provide specialized care to critically ill cardiovascular patients. The RN will monitor patients, manage complex cardiac conditions, administer treatments, and collaborate with the critical care team.

You will assess and respond to changes, assist physicians with procedures, educate patients and families, and maintain accurate documentation while following infection control and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the applicable state.
• Nursing degree from an accredited program.
• CVICU/ICU/critical care experience preferred.
• Strong cardiac assessment, critical-thinking, and clinical decision-making skills.
• BLS and ACLS certification as required.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient-care skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess and continuously monitor critically ill cardiovascular patients.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, hemodynamic status, and clinical changes.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and prescribed treatments.
• Manage and monitor cardiac devices, ventilators, and other critical care equipment as appropriate.
• Provide care to patients before and after cardiac or vascular procedures and surgeries.
• Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition and emergencies.
• Assist physicians with procedures and critical care interventions.
• Educate and support patients and families regarding care and treatment.
• Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses.
• Follow infection control, patient safety, and critical care standards.
