Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, WI seeks a dedicated RN for the Cardiology Device Clinic. You will support patients undergoing device implants, perform device interrogations, and provide education in a fast-paced subspecialty setting.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing required.
• Current RN license to practice in Wisconsin upon hire.
• Minimum 2 years RN experience, with at least 1 year in cardiology.
• BLS for Health Care Providers current; ACLS required after hire.
• Experience with EPIC is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for device interrogations and in-person evaluations.
• Perform phone triage, patient education, and medication refills.
• Manage EPIC in-basket and MyChart messages.
• Coordinate procedures and support across inpatient and procedural areas.

RN, Registered Nurse | Cardiology Device Clinic

Location: La Crosse, WI

FTE: Full-Time (72 hours per two weeks; 0.9 FTE)

Schedule: 8-hour shifts between 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM. No weekends, holidays, or call obligation

Position Overview

Join our highly specialized Cardiac Device team in providing advanced cardiac care in a collaborative, high-performing environment. This role blends procedural coordination, patient education, and clinical nursing responsibilities with a mix of phone-based and in-person care. You'll work closely with cardiology physicians and advanced practice clinicians to support patients undergoing Cardiac Device procedures such as device implants and helping elevate the level of nursing practice in a subspecialty setting.

What you will do:

• This role will also include management of cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIED) and their care
• Perform phone triage and patient education, complete medication refills, manage EPIC in-basket and MyChart messages.
• Provide direct patient care through in-person device interrogation, evaluation, and optimization of device settings based on clinical needs.
• Support inpatient and procedural areas by conducting device interrogations in the OR, Emergency Services, MRI, Radiation Oncology, and Pain Medicine settings.
• This role will assist with procedure coordination and in office procedures

What you need:

• Minimum of associate degree in Nursing
• RN licensure to practice in the state of Wisconsin upon hire
• Minimum of 2 years of Registered Nurse (RN) experience required, including at least 1 year of cardiology nursing experience.
• Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers
• ACLS required after hire
• Ideal candidate will have: Strong cardiology knowledge and a passion for continuous learning.
• Knowledge and passion for heart rhythm management
• Experience with EPIC
