Join Geisinger's Cardiac ICU team, a 30-bed unit focused on providing exceptional care for post-operative cardiac patients. As a nurse, you'll assess, plan, and coordinate patient care while collaborating with a supportive interdisciplinary team. Assesses plans, organizes, performs, and evaluates nursing activities to meet the needs of the patient. Promotes adaptive responses of patient and family to achieve the highest level of patient care, promote safety, and maximize patient satisfaction. Exhibits compassionate care during patient-nurse interactions. Coordinates patient care and interaction of staff. Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in their assigned nursing unit. Responsible for ensuring the very best patient and family experience by optimizing all interactions. Completes assessments as established by scope of practice and unit standards.

The Cardiac ICU is a 30-bed unit caring for post Coronary Artery Bypass Graph patients (CABG), valve repairs, and other cardiac surgeries. We also care for Cardiology (STEMI, post cath, TAVR, or watchmen procedures), Heart Failure patients (LVAD placement), Critical Care Medicine patients, post-op transplant patients, Vascular patients, and Esophagectomy patients. HfAM7 utilizes ECMO, Ventilators, Intra-aortic balloon pump, CRRT, LVAD and RVAD.
Schedule is full time (.9 FTE), 36 hours. Day/Night Rotation with every other weekend and every other holiday rotation.
