Regional Nurse Consultant (RN) – Skilled Nursing

Starting at $165,000 / Year

Overview

Elderwood Administrative Services is seeking an experienced Regional Nurse Consultant (RNC) to support clinical operations and nursing leadership across a portfolio of skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities.

Location – Western New York (Primarily) with flexibility for travel

Strengthen clinical leadership across an entire region.

Regional Scope and Travel Expectations

This is a regional field position requiring regular in-person presence at assigned Elderwood facilities. It is not a remote clinical‑consulting role.

Western New York contains the largest concentration of supported facilities; however, the Regional Nurse Consultant must also be willing and able to travel to facilities in Central New York and the Adirondack region based on operational and clinical needs.

Typical Travel Expectations Include
  • Regular daytime travel among assigned skilled nursing facilities
  • In-person facility presence several days during a typical workweek
  • Scheduled travel to Central New York and Adirondack facilities, as needed
  • Periodic overnight travel when distance, scheduling or facility needs require it
  • Flexibility to adjust planned travel in response to surveys, leadership transitions, significant clinical events or urgent facility priorities
  • Additional facility presence during periods requiring focused clinical support
Lead Through Partnership

This position requires more than identifying gaps or issuing recommendations.

Our Regional Nurse Consultants build credibility by being present, understanding facility realities and working alongside local leaders to solve problems. The strongest candidate will know when to coach, when to challenge, when to elevate and when a facility needs hands‑on support to move an initiative forward.

You will be expected to establish trusted relationships while maintaining clear clinical expectations and accountability.

Why Join Elderwood?
  • Influence clinical performance across multiple skilled nursing communities.
  • Work directly with facility and organizational leaders on meaningful clinical priorities.
  • Help develop current and future Directors of Nursing.
  • Bring successful practices from one facility to others across the portfolio.
  • Serve as a consistent clinical resource during periods of growth, transition and operational challenge.
  • Join a broader clinical leadership structure that values facility partnership, accountability and resident- centered care.

If you are an experienced skilled nursing leader who can balance regulatory knowledge, operational judgment, mentorship and hands‑on facility support, we would like to meet you.
