Job summary

Northside Hospital Inc. in Georgia seeks a Staff RN III to provide high‑quality cardiac/critical care nursing on rotating shifts. The role features a 0.9 FTE (72 hours per pay period) with four 9‑hour shifts and a demanding call/coverage schedule.

The ideal candidate has an RN license in Georgia, ACLS certification within 1 year, and at least two years of full‑time RN experience in CCU/ER/ICU settings; IV insertion skills and ED procedures are a plus. Regular on‑call and holiday shifts apply.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and licensed as a RN in Georgia.
• Minimum of two years of full-time RN experience post-orientation or post-residency training.
• ACLS certification within 1 year of employment.
• Preferred: experience in cardiac/critical care, ER, ICU or Radiology-related settings.
• Procedural and/or Emergency Department experience with strong IV insertion skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide RN coverage according to staffing needs and shift schedules.
• Participate in rotating on-call schedule with stated coverage times.
• Maintain patient care standards during 9-hour shifts over four days per week.
• Respond to calls within 1 hour when called in.
• Support holiday and weekend call coverage as required.

Responsibilities

• Role: Staff RN III
• FTE: 0.9
• Hours: 72 hours per pay period 36 hours/weekShift Times (Rotate between):
• 6:30 AM – 4:00 PM
• 7:15 AM – 4:45 PM (call RN stays until 5pm)
• 4 days per week (9hour shifts)Regular Schedule
• Self-scheduling period: 6-week scheduling cycleo Schedule Submitted by staff o Finalized at least 4 weeks ahead
• Staffing balance goal: o 8 RNs per weekday shift, 1 Call RN overnight (14 hours)o 1 Call RN on each weekend day (24hours)
• Call RequirementsResponse Time: Must be able to report within 1 hour when called in. Call Rotation:
• 3 weekday call shifts o Monday–Friday o 4:30 PM – 6:30 AM o 14-hour overnight call windows
• 1 weekend call shift o Either Saturday or Sunday o 6:30 AM – 6:30 AM next day o 24-hour call window Holiday Call
• Required to take: o 2 holiday call shifts per calendar year o Each is 24 hours

Qualifications

• REQUIRED:
• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations.
• Minimum of two (2) years of full-time experience as a RN post-orientation or post-residency training.
• Certified in American Heart Association’s Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year of employment.
• PREFERRED:
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience involving the treatment of cardiac/critical care patients, ER, ICU and/or Radiology (IR) experience highly preferred.
• Procedural and/or Emergency Department experience (including pre-op, OR, PACU, Interventional Pain, Endovascular, Interventional Radiology, Endoscopy, and strong IV insertion skills) is easily transferable.
