Job summary

Dominican Hospital, part of Dignity Health, is seeking a Quality Improvement Manager to lead the facility's quality and risk-management programs in Santa Cruz, CA. You will oversee performance improvement, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and the reporting of outcomes to leadership and boards.

The role requires strong analytic and leadership skills, with experience implementing robust quality initiatives and a commitment to patient safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field or 5 years of related experience in lieu of degree.
• Minimum of 3 years of progressive management responsibility in an acute care setting.
• Experience managing a Quality Improvement Program including quality improvement methodology and data analysis.
• Minimum of 3 years of risk management and patient safety experience.
• Experience developing and implementing clinical, service and operational process improvements.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical patient care experience or equivalent.
• Supervisory/management experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee quality initiatives and patient safety programs across the facility.
• Ensure compliance with CMS HIQRP/HOQRP, TJC, Leapfrog, and related reporting.
• Provide guidance on regulatory readiness and mock surveys.
• Lead event reporting, root-cause analysis, and risk mitigation to reduce adverse outcomes.
