Job summary

LewisGale Medical Center in Salem, VA is seeking a Progressive Care Registered Nurse to coordinate and deliver high quality, patient-centered care for pre- and post-operative patients.

You will assess and document patient status, administer medications, and collaborate with the care team to ensure a positive patient experience. Day shifts run 6:45am–7:15pm, with 12-hour shifts and possible self-scheduling.

A $20,000 sign-on and a comprehensive benefits package are available.

Qualifications

• RN requiring ACLS/BCLS within specified timelines.
• RN licensed in good standing.
• Pre-/post-operative care coordination and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver high quality, patient-centered care.
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care in collaboration with providers.
• Advocate for patients to support an outstanding patient experience.
• Assess patient condition on admission and each shift; report changes.
• Document care in the medical record and administer medications as prescribed.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Progressive Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

What you will do in this role:

• Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
• Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.

What qualifications you will need:

• (RN) Registered Nurse
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support, or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree
