HCA Florida Largo Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Progressive Care Transplant & Advanced Heart Failure Unit. You will provide highly specialized care for liver and kidney transplant recipients and LVAD patients, working closely with transplant surgeons and multidisciplinary teams to support recovery and long‑term management.

Qualifications

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• (RN) Registered Nurse (Associate Degree)

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for liver transplant, kidney transplant, and LVAD patients in a progressive care setting.
• Monitor and assess patients for signs of transplant rejection, infection, hemodynamic instability, and post-operative complications.
• Manage complex medication regimens, including immunosuppressive therapies, anticoagulation, and vasoactive medications as appropriate.
• Perform advanced assessments and intervene promptly when changes in patient condition occur.
• Care for patients requiring specialized monitoring and management of LVAD devices.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including transplant physicians, surgeons, pharmacists, dietitians, physical therapists, and case managers.
• Educate patients and families regarding transplant recovery, medication compliance, LVAD management, lifestyle modifications, and discharge planning.
• Support patients through the physical and emotional challenges associated with organ transplantation and advanced heart failure.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation utilizing the electronic medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice activities.
