Job summary

UNC Health Johnston in Smithfield, NC is seeking a bedside RN to join the Progressive Care Unit, a 19-bed intermediate care team providing monitoring, antiarrhythmic and vasoactive therapies, and high‑quality patient care. You will report to the Nurse Manager/Director, coordinate care using the nursing process, participate in education, and collaborate across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.

Responsibilities

• Education - participate in learning needs and patient education materials.
• Evaluation of Care - identify expected outcomes and communicate with the interdisciplinary team.
• Implementation - care for patients with complex problems and perform bedside testing as required.
• Leadership - contribute to unit goals and performance improvement.
• Patient Assessment - assess priorities and plan discharge needs.
• Planning - collaborate with patient/family to update the plan of care.
• Research - engage with current journals and apply relevant findings.
