Job summary

AdventHealth in Tampa, FL is seeking a Registered Nurse for PRN night shift to provide safe nursing care, perform initial assessments, coordinate care, and ensure accurate handoffs using EPIC.

You will deliver patient-centered care, collaborate with the team, participate in rounding with AIDET, and uphold organizational standards. Requires RN license, BSN preferred, 1+ year experience; BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.

Qualifications

• RN licensed in Florida or eligible
• 1+ year of nursing experience required
• Competence with EPIC charting system (preferred)

• Maintains safe practice by demonstrating unit-specific clinical competency and compliance with all regulatory standards.
• Ensures safe and effective handoff communications and documentation between caregivers.

Job Description:

• Maintains safe practice by demonstrating unit-specific clinical competency and compliance with all regulatory standards.
• Ensures safe and effective handoff communications and documentation between caregivers.
• Participates in peer interviewing and peer review processes.
• Communicates courteously with internal and external customers in person or on the telephone.
• Demonstrates respect for co-workers and develops positive working relationships with other departments.
• Participates in hourly rounding using the AIDET technique to improve patient outcomes.
• Incorporates Caring Model behaviors and culturally competent care into daily practice.
• Adheres to organizational standards for dress and professional appearance.
• Collaborates and demonstrates teamwork in managing patient flow, promoting timely patient placement by following hospital policy for admission, discharge, and transfer.
• Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in the delivery of nursing services.
• Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health and unit-specific data for process improvement initiatives.
• Conducts initial patient assessments within expected timeframes, initiate consults as indicated, and identify patient/family teaching and discharge planning needs.
