SUMMARY (BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB)
Oversees implementation and integration of national standards and evidence-based clinical practice guidelines in the care of patients for specific campus. Reviews and evaluates the program's compliance with the use of clinical practice guidelines and outcomes measurements to improve care on a continuous basis. Establishes collaborative working relationships. Facilitates development and implementation of education for patients and families. Develops educational plans and competency assessments.
Education: RN, BSN required, MSN prepared. Must obtain the MSN within 18 months of hire. Advanced certification preferred, ACLS and BLS.
Experience: Three years operational supervision experience in a hospital inpatient and outpatient setting. Experience with policy development and implementing evidence-based practice.
Requires TNCC (or must obtain within 1 year of hire) AND 8 hours of Trauma related Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) contact hours annually if assigned to: RMC ICU/CCU, RMC Surgical Trauma Unit, RMC PACU, Emergency Department (all campuses).
Requires NIH Stroke Scale Certification (or must obtain by end of orientation) AND 8 hours of Stroke related Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) contact hours annually.
Knowledge and Skills: Possesses excellent organizational, interpersonal, conflict resolution, and verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously and ability to respond quickly in a fast-paced environment.
Special Training: Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office. Extensive familiarity with the use of the internet as a clinical and administrative resource.
Mental, Behavioral and Emotional Abilities: Ability to form and maintain interpersonal professional working relationships.
Frequent physical demands include: Sitting, Walking, Carry objects, Push/Pull, Reaching forward, Pinching/fine motor activities, Keyboard use/repetitive motion, Taste or Smell, Talk or Hear.
Occasional physical demands include: Standing, Climbing (e.g., stairs or ladders), Twisting, Bending, Reaching overhead, Squat/kneel/crawl, Wrist position deviation.
Continuous Physical Demands Include: Lifting Floor to Waist 15 lbs. Lifting Waist Level and Above 10 lbs.
Sensory Requirements include: Accurate Near Vision, Accurate Far Vision, Color Discrimination, Moderate Depth Perception, Moderate Hearing.
Anticipated Occupational Exposure Risks Include the following: Bloodborne Pathogens, Airborne Communicable Disease, Radiation.
